Mladen Gutesha NEW
...UND ! (EMI) 1973, Germany

Ultra rare spiritual jazz / soul gospell album composed by hungarian guitarist Mladen "Bobby" Gutesha, who recorded it in Germany with a bunch of reknowned musicians (Siegried Schwab / Leo Wright) and a Catholic choir. This concept album apparently dedicated to the memory of Martin Luther King is really consistant, I can't really choose my favorite track as tune like "Soldat", "I have a dream", "Angeitos Negros" or the cover of Bob Dylan's "Masters of War" are just amazing. Recently reissued by Sonorama, the original gatefold album released on EMI is ultra tough to find. Record is EX close to NM, cover has a small cut corner.

Lou Macconnell NEW
Reaching For It (MD - MD-0044) 1977, Belgium

Beautiful deep jazz album by belgian sax/flute player Lou Macconnell with Wilbur Little on bass, Vinnie Johnson (from Stark Reality) on drums, Keyboards by one of the best begian pianist Michel Herr. The album opens with a somptuous version of Coltrane's classic "Naima". But the whole is solid with great tracks like "O Grande Amor", "Four" or the beautiful 13' long "Like Sonny". Really nice copy.

Harrissa NEW
s/t (Acoustic Life Records) 1984, France

Seldom seen little known private jazz album released as a micro press on the tiny Acoustic Life Records life by a bunch of obscure musicians in the South Of France. Superb free / spirit session with a strong oriental influence on "Harrissa", contemporary groovy cut on "Tune Out". Very close to Cossy Antaz in the sound ... Record is strong EX to NM, cover is dedicated on the backcover, has light peeling like most of the copies I had. Nice discovery, really hard to find.

Scope NEW
Grand Bassam (Private) 1986, France

Back in Stock ! Seldom seen obscure private modal jazz album by this quintet from Lyon. It includes a couple of excellent covers of Wayne Shorter "Witch Hunt" & "Speak No Evil" but the highlights comes from B side with the killer long modal tune "Grand Bassam" definitely in the same vein as local but excellent band like Jazz Group De Bretagne or Octet De Dreux with brilliant piano & deep sax solos. "Anodin et la lampe merveilleuse" and "Strasbourg-Dakar" are also really nice tracks. Minty stock copy. Beautiful discovery pressed in the 80's at a very small run. Recently playlisted by GP. Jump on it !

Raphaël JUST SOLD
Stop, Look, Listen (Selection) 1972, Belgium

Ultra hard to find little known jazz album which I consider as a European Spiritual Jazz masterpiece. Recorded in Belgium in 1972 by American (or Canadian) born pianist Phil Raphaël with the help of talented (but quite unknown) belgian jazzmen. This brilliant album has a really unique and seldom heard sound melting different musical styles like be-bop, deep vocal jazz and rock. Many musicians tried their hand at fusion around that time, but this album is unequalled in its lyrical, poetic chemistry. Stop, look, listen and send a nice offer…
