The Kirchin Band (Ivor & Basil) NEW
Tangerine / Mambo Macoco (Parlophone) 1954, UK

Ultra rare 7" by Ivor & Basil Kirchin as the The Kirchin Band. This is probably their first recording in 1954 originally on a 10" , it seams this 7" was issued a bit later in the mid 60's. Don't miss out the beautiful Tito Puente cover of "Mambo Macoco" with kiler bongo rythms and superb brass section. Both cover and record are in EX / EX condition.

Bahumutsi ON HOLD
Busang Meropa / Bring back the drums (Sounds From Bahumutsi - SFB001) 1987, South Africa - UK pressing

Seldom seen for sale and still under the radar album for the South African play "The Busang Meropa (Bring back the Drums)" written and directed by Maishe Maponya who founded the Bahumutsi ("Confronters") Drama Group in 1976 "to reflect in drama the struggle of the people of South Africa". This group was mostly based at the Moravian church hall in Soweto, but toured sevaral time in Europe in the 1980s. Don't miss out "To the comrades (questions)" a superb electro jive tune with a killer synth rhythm hook or "Izwe Lolahieko" a great spiritual South African electronic jazz clearly reminding Batsumi with the use of native flute and percussions. Little known record, great music ! Record look EX plays with a few background noise, cover is EX with minimal wear.

Les Dum's (Philippe Combelle) NEW
Dum dum des grands singes / La danse des grands singes nus (EMI Pes) 197?, France

Rare psychedelic afro jazz OST 7" by l'Orchestre Les Dum's. In fact a studio group founded by french musician Philippe Combelle (so not an actual african band as the sound could suggest !). Inc. the cult "La danse des grands singes nus" an uptempo groovy jazz with superb acoustic guitar solo, Fender Rhodes and crazy monkey yelling. "Dum dum des grands Singes" is a cool psych pop cut with killer fuzz guitar hook. Record has many mark plays with evident background noises. Cover is VG ++ (wear / no split). Really hard to find.
