Mfalme
Nuku Penda (Asanté) 197?, Kenya

American soul singer Jimmie Raye went on an East African tour in 1974, playing in arenas in Kenya where he was called Mflame ("King Of Soul" in Swahilli). With the help of local musicians he recorded the album "Let Your Soul Fly", on "Asante" label. Features "Nuku Penda" is a killer mid-tempo funk / soul number with keyboards, bongo breaks, horns, percolating bass, thundering drums and growly vocals from Maflame. Madjumbé
zail (Hibiscus) 1988, France

Slept on West Indies jazz fusion in the same vein as Lucien Jolly, Brival, Cultier or even Sardaby. Late 80's private on the same label as Brival but still unknown by collectors I guess. Some superb west indies groovy jazz like the deep beautiful "Se Llama" reminding another West Indies Grail, "Guadeloupe Reflexions" by Camille Soprann'. Also worth to check "Evanescence" & "Madjoumbé". Close to Mint stock copy.

Tropical Brothers Style
s/t (Private ML 509) 197?, Switzerland

First time I heard about this afro-caribbean band (I guess from Dominica) that self release an album in Switzerland. Mostly calypso & reggae, it worth the price for the monster afro funk cut "Let's go". Really sounding as good as Black Machine or Exile One's "funky crookie" also a very interesting Reggae Lypso track " ! Cover has bent corner & minor H20 damage, record looks unplayed. Afro-funk collector, don't sleep as it seems very rare.
