Dashiell Hedayat - David Allen
Obsolete (Shandar SR 83 512) 1972, France

Splendid early 70's LP, in which David Allen, Gong and Caravan members accompany the trippy, naive, sweet and sour texts of singer/poet Dashiell Hedayat. Influenced by Syd Barrett solo escapades, this LP is one of the best Psych Pop french album with long progressive psych cosmic tracks in the vein of Gong with saturated guitars, loud bass, dreamy flutes, light and dark moments on "Chrysler" and "Cielo drive" and a great "tender hippie" track that remind Gainsbourg's "Melody Nelson" : "the long song for Zelda". Really a fantastic LP. Check the audio, cover is a bit yellowed on border otherwise EX.

Ilous & Decuyer
s/t (Flamophone 33 03) 1971, France

Splendid album with a sensuous sound full of subtlety and emotion elaborate music based on lush arrangements. It doesn't hurt matters that French rock icon Jacques Dutronc's backing band, including extraordinary guitarist Jean-Pierre Alarcen (also a key member of SYSTEME CRAPOUTCHIK and SANDROSE), helped out their friends on some of these sessions. Now super hard to find this only album by French duo in the folk genre.
