Quinteplus NEW
s/t (EMI 10055) 1971, Argentina

Brilliant hard to find Jazz Funk album from Argentina released in 1971 by a group of jazz musicians (Pocho Lapouble, Santiago Giacobbe, Jorge Gonzalez, Jorge Anders ..) from the late 60s "New Jazz Collective" movement in Argentina, who researched new direction to give to jazz. This album is the result of experimentation between jazz, african rythms and folk. The whole Lp is brilliant w/ beautiful jazz funk cuts like "El Marques", "Loberman", "El Hombre" & "Blackman El Justiciero" and more. Record is NM but has a click on the end of "La Vuelta Del Elefantator" and at the beg. of "Ode to Billy Joe".

Seldom seen laid back jazz funk from France by this underrated drummer and son of notorious Sydney Bechet ! Includes several superb spacey jazz funk cuts with clavinet, synth, smooth rythms section, E-Piano, Piano etc. Like the killer "Astral dance". The whole album is beautiful, halfway between Azymuth, Italian Library & Lonnie Liston Smith & Jackie Giordano. Superb summer feel ! Now in demand and super hard to find as it was a real flop when it was released inthe late 70's ! Record is EX with barely visible surface. Cover is VG ++ with slightly used edges.
