Cortex Vol.2, here it is ! The rarest of the third LPs of french duo Alain Mion & Alain Gandolfi, harder to find than "Troupeau Bleu", this one is also funkier ... no need big comment quite simply, one of the toughest, tightest fusion-funk sessions ever recorded in France during the 70s. The instrumentation is stunning from start to finish , you just need it in your collection. I put a long soundclip on this one. Record is strong EX. Chodo (Le Chant du Monde - LDX 74603) 1976, France

Definitely one of favorite afro jazz album recorded in France. Absolute masterpiece, mixing latin, caribbean, african grooves with a deep subtle jazz. Nouel played all the keyboard (Fender or Piano) while his fellow Louis Xavier (who formed Synchro with Nouel) played loud bass. The whole album is beautiful included breaks and great E Piano solo. Record looks EX with a few barely visible surface. Cover is EX.

Confidential record on French progressive label Pôle. Very few people knows about this one. Produced by Philippe Besombes, it is really hard to describe because it mixes jazz, funk, pop, rock, prog and electronics too ... Check the wonderful "Kaliani" with a killer Fender rhodes solo, snapping drums and bass, cello, sax ... sounds a bit like Melody Nelson blended with Cortex. Also worth to check "Mort d'un Rat" a superb soul jazz tune with acoustic guitar, sax, Fender, "4-5-6" a killer progressive jazz cut soundling a la Placebo. "Rêverie" is another killing cut in the vein of "Pop Instrumental de France". Ultra rare. Record is NM looks barely played. Fragile cover is superb shape. Probably the best copy I ever had for sale. Mike Selesia NEW
Flavors (Private) 1976, USA

Probably one of the rarest records we have offered for sale on the site, and one of the finest spiritual jazz / jazz funk album I have ever heard. Rumored limited to 300 copies, It has been supposedly recorded in a single afternoon. A true beauty including brilliant version of "MR. PC" by John Coltrane or "Silvers Serenade" by Horace Silver. The whole album is fantastic with tracks like "Brute Strength"/ "Yusefs Way" / Castle Spook" and "Flavors". "Eastern raga" is also a superb psych jazz cut with trippy sitar/ sax / tamboura & flute. Music speaks louder than words so you'd better check the clip. Record is NM, fragile cover has a small split 2 com on upper seam. For serious jazz collectors only.
