Bob Azzam and his orchestra NEW
New Sounds (Columbia #SSX 1035) 1968, Sweden
Ultra rare Original Swedish issue from 1968 of this legendary album by famous Bob Azzam (came out one year later in the U.S. and Canada with a different sleeve under the title "Bob Azzam & The Great Expectation") This original Swedish press is rarer, by far hardest to find, and it contains 12 tracks whereas the american issue contains 10 songs. Includes the monster cover of Allen Toussaint's "Rain, Rain, Go Away" with its fat drum breaks, the rough hammond funk dancer "Tricky Soul", a great version of the brazilian club track "Berimbau", as well as probably the grooviest version of "Tea For Two" ever, funky beat on "Mrs Wilson", and other 60's beat tracks, such as a superb cover of the Rolling Stones "The Last Time".

Recorded in one night, Original PopCorn is a monster psych funk Lp with repetitive gimmick made around "eating popcorn"! Several minutes of banging solo drums, very hypnotic, transe like funk drum& bass, crazy psych phasing effects. For all beatheads and groovy psycho freaks !

Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band NEW
Bongo Rock (MGM) 1972, France
To list all the people who have sampled this record would take a week. "Apache" is an all-time B-boy classic and despite its popularity with Hip-Hop, it never seems to get old or tired. Every single song has hard clean drum breaks. It’s just the single best break record of all-time. My favorite is the breakdown on "Last Bongo In Belgium" sampled by the Beastie Boys on "Looking Down the Barrel of A Gun", the break just goes on and on and on for like two minutes. Sick! When people become Hip-Hop DJs this is the first record they should get. A Monster classic

Luc Ferrari - Michel Portal
Le bal de la contemporaine (Muse) 1980, France
Back in stock ! Collectors beware, very few copies are now circulating beyond dealers... We have in this nugget many killing samples that you could produce an entire album with this. Complex open drums break, with this particular off track pattern added with many percussions, horns stabs, I could not guess that surely the best break track I heard since a while, was on contemporary experimental record. This whole A side is just a dream to any producer or breaks lovers. On B side we have groovy jazz, ending up as a boogie latin funk bomb sung in Spanish and backed by mad vocal ! A little of spiritual jazz with break beat, some big band touches, crazy scat, a kind of proto scat rap, contemporary sounds ... Not a bad track, just crazy music...Don't sleep this record not more than 1000 copies were pressed.
