Filidie Diedhiou – Dagnino (Balani – B 4 10 83 – France – 1984)

BACK IN STOCK ! Pretty much overlooked album by French-Senegalese musician-singer Filidie Diedhiou released in 1984 on the short lived label Balani record. The whole album is good with nothing but good Latin Jazz-Funk, Afro Beat, Disco & Funky Reggae tracks. Opening with the killer "Assanghor" an M'Balax Jazz-Funk hybrid tune, following cut "Dagnigo" is an excellent uptempo Jazz-Funk tune. "Bimousso" is a great afro-latin rumba tune with a super groovy rhythm section. "Dounya" is a deep mandingue tune mixing reggae with a jazz twist. The Afro Disco "N'Terol" is clearly the dancefloor tune that would the crowd on a tropical DJ set. The closing track "Casa Ba" is a also a nice mix between jazz-fusion, afro latin horns section, super funky rhythms & topped by the deep voice of Diedhiou. Really hard to find album that remains still underrated with such a nice artwork !

Record is NM close to Mint (looks barely played, see the actual soundclip on our instagram post) / Sleeve is in excellent condition (very light lamination peeling on back)
