In-demand French Télémusic library by a legendary French jazz double bass player. Here, he experiments with the double bass, notably on the cult track “Indian Pop Bass,” originally released as a 7" single and one of the rare library titles to have seen a commercial release.
This LP leans more toward a moody jazz album than a typical library record, infused with dark, atmospheric psychedelic jazz, as heard on “Percussion Bass”, "Ballade pour une Basse" and “Patio Bass.” The highlight is undoubtedly the psych-jazz cut “Les Copains De La Basse,” featuring an insane flute solo, slapping double bass, and massive drums. “Bass Session” is another heavy organ-driven psych tune, building to a crazy, hectic climax.
Certainly one of the finest Télémusic releases, and arguably one of the best French library records.
