Patrick Vasori, Caravelli – April Orchestra Vol. 16 Présente Caravelli (1977 - France)

Sold out

Rare and now cult library album by French composer Claude Vasori, better known under his pop moniker Caravelli. This record stands completely apart from the rest of his vast discography, revealing a much darker, more experimental side rarely associated with his name.
Ready-made hip hop gold on “Avant l’enlisement”, and a truly terrifying breakbeat driven by strings on “L’étrange Dr Personne” — sounding like a tough, ominous Vladimir Cosma meets KPM moment.
“Dernière turbulence”, “Métamorphose démentielle” and “Base pour travaux rythmiques” are also packed with outstanding drum breaks: raw, tense and highly cinematic. The whole record feels like a lost François de Roubaix soundtrack, drifting somewhere between French library music, experimental film scoring and pure future beatmaker fuel.
An essential listen and easily one of my favorite French library LPs, the kind of record that works just as well for deep, immersive listening as it does for serious sampling.

Record is in excellent shape very close to Near Mint / Sleeve is Near Mint.
