Turkish television breaks were never this trippy! TRT Ara Müzikleri 2 dives into the wonderfully strange world of 1970s Turkish TV interlude music, where psychedelic electronics, traditional instrumentation and hypnotic grooves collide in unexpected ways.
The absolute highlight is Okay Temiz – “Denizaltı Rüzgârları”, a hypnotic slice of Turkish psychedelia built around inventive percussion, bubbling Moog synthesizers, deep bass and the distinctive sound of the bağlama. The result is an otherworldly blend of Eastern melodies and space-age electronics, driven by a wonderfully infectious, almost ritualistic groove.
Originally released as a 45 in the mid-1970s, the track perfectly captures the experimental spirit of the era, sitting somewhere between Turkish psych, cosmic funk and the stranger corners of library music. Its swirling synth lines and relentless rhythmic pulse make it an irresistible choice for adventurous DJs and anyone digging into the deeper side of Anatolian sounds.
A seriously trippy piece of Turkish musical history that still sounds out of this world.
