CCPP - Ceccarelli / Chantereau / Padovan / Pezin – CCPP

André Ceccarelli on drums, Marc Chantereau on keyboards and percussion, Christian Padovan on bass and Slim Pezin on guitars formed this super group at the peak of their art ! They produced here a pure 8 jazz funk instrumentals
with complex structures and breaks. Our 4 men, who benefit from the precious support of a solid brass section, chain the notes with incredible virtuosity and energy, while visibly taking a huge step forward. This positive energy is found in the monstrous groove which escapes from the smallest corners of the disc. A groove that has its source in the dizzying drumming of a Ceccarelli at his best. Percussions and cosmic keyboards mingling with syncopated guitars then draw the contours of a mutant and hypnotic funk which it is impossible to resist for long. It is then time to let go and surrender completely to the pure enjoyment of wild and powerful music. CCPP is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful chapters of french jazz funk, devilishly learned but always human. As many jazz funk Holy grails this CCPP is getting so hard to find, particulary in clean shape.
